  1. Immune-mediated: MAJORITY. (Westie, CKCS, Cocker, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso)
    1. Neurological: Before Parasympathetic (VII) n emerges stylomastoid foramen. STT on facial paralysis cases. Poor tear prod compounded by absence of blinking
      1. Dacryoadenitis: Inflammatory destruction in distemper
        1. Congenital alacrima: RARE. Small breeds. Norm unilat. (May be delayed maturation with improvement later)
          1. Drug-induced: Sulphadiazine (acute KCS) - Conjunctival hyperaemia - Pain - Lustreless cornea -Low STT. Temporary or permanent damage. Reversible drugs - atropine, topical anaesthetics.
