  1. Carbon
    1. Makes up 18% of the human body. Is present in the glucose and is ingested in the body by carbohydrates. We find carbon in everything, from cell membranes to hormones to DNA.
    2. Oxygen
      1. is needed for the cellular respiration and the cells use oxygen to break down sugar to produce ATP. Also is important for life of humans, plants and almost everything existing.
      2. Nitrogen
        1. Plants use the nitrogen to produce amino acids, proteins and compounds like chlorophyll. Is needed for growing properly and the development of plants.
        2. Sulfur
          1. Is an important part of amino acids, helps the body resist bacteria, cleanses the blood and protect the protoplasm of cells; is found in protein food and is used for treating the skin.
          2. Phosphorous
            1. All body cells contains phosphorous and with the calcium provides structure and strength. Furthermore, is requires for processes such as energy production and pH regulation.
