1. Magnetic Storage

   • Advantage
     • It is more cost effective than optical storage
     • Larger capacity than than solid state
   • Disadvantage
     • Not as durable
     • It has moving parts
   • Data is stored by magnestising the surface of flat
   • circular plats are called platters

2. Optical storage

   • Advantage
     • It is more cost effective than solid state
     • Very portable than magnetic storage
   • Disadvantage
     • Not very durable
     • There are moving parts
   • Optical storage is any method in which data is written and read with a laser
   • CDs DVDs e.c.t are examples of optical storage

3. Solid state

   • Advantage
     • Much more faster than magnetic storage
     • More Energy efficient than magnetic storage
   • Disadvantaged
     • Less cost effected and also has lifespan
     • Has a much smaller capacity
   • It uses microchips to store data
   • It does not contain any moving parts
