Proportional Relationships
Rates: In mathematics, a rate is a ratio between two measurements with different units. If the unit or quantity in respect of which something is changing is not specified, usually the rate is per unit time. However, a rate of change can be specified per unit time, or per unit of length or mass or another quantity.
In this lesson, students will write ratios and use ratios to compare data. Students will then be able to express ratios as unit rates.
- Ratios: A ratio is a statement of how two numbers compare. It is a comparison of the size of one number to the size of another number.
- UNIT RATES: In mathematics, a rate is a ratio between two measurements with different units. If the unit or quantity in respect of which something is changing is not specified, usually the rate is per unit time. However, a rate of change can be specified per unit time, or per unit of length or mass or another quantity.
- Students: After finishing the ratio assignment, it is time to solve these unit rate problems. Good Luck!
