1. A huge collection of websites we can access on the internet
  1. Each website contains web pages which are navigated to via hyperlinks
    1. Each contain different information
  2. Web browser is a software used to access or request for information.
2. They are stored on web servers all over the world, there are no central storage servers
3. It enables the retrieval of text and media to your computer.
  1. This system would allow others to link their documents together to create a web of interconnected documents.

        A web server is server software, or hardware dedicated to running said software.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Start
  1. Enter URL into browser
    1. Browser requests IP address of site from ISP
      1. ISP requests IP address from DNS server
        DNS responds with details of the name server
        ISP asks name server for site IP address
        Name server responds with IP address of the host
        ISP sends IP address to the browser
        Browser sends request to the server hosting the site
        End
