1. WHAT IS IT?

   • cascading style sheets
   • used for design in documents like HTML
   • a style sheet language
     • this means a computing language that controls the way the document is presented

2. WHAT IS CSS IN CHARGE OF?

   • text colour
   • fonts
   • text size
   • background colour
   • alignment
   • any layout

3. WHY CSS?

   • other than CSS, there are ways to design web pages
     • an example of another way is 'applying styles directly to HTML'
       • however, CSS is much easier to use
         • CSS also has a wide range of advantages
           • downloads in a shorter amount of time
           • easier to access
           • easier to retain and update
           • more options
           • code is lightweight
             • this means syntax/features are smaller and simpler; that they use less memory and as little software and hardware as they can
