1. Phishing

   • Phishing is a form of social engineering. it arrives as a spoof email(fake) fooling the user into giving out their personal information
   • usernames,passwords and credit card info are normally sold to other criminals for profit or used to illeagally purchase goods or service

2. Pharming

   • Uses a combo of phishing and farming. the user is directed to a fake website were they enter personal info
   • this is used to commit further illegal acts such as width drawing money, purchasing goods or download personal files

3. man in the middle attacks

   • where communication between two devices is intercepted and tampered with
   • the use of encryption can protect against this
