1. word meanings

   • storage- the retention or retrievable data on a computer or another device
   • periphal- able to be attached to or used in a computer though its not an intergral part of the computer
   • output- the place were power or information leaves a system
   • computer- a device that can take inputs, process data and output a result
   • software- integral documents that are saved into your computer eg: PowerPoint/word documents

2. Computer parts

   • FAN-cools the components that may get hot
   • RAM-stores data while powered
   • MOTHERBOARD- connects the components
   • CPU- processes information
   • POWER SUPPLY-supplies power the components
   • FLOPPY DRIVE- Reads and writes information from floppy disks
   • HARD DRIVE- Reads and writes data onto metal platters
   • OPTICAL DRIVE- reads and writes data stored on the compact discs.

3. ROM- Read, Only, Memory

   • ROM can be used for FirmWare updates
   • ROM- Keeps its Content whether the power is on or off

4. RAM- Random,Access, Memory

   • RAM allows the computer to work with more information
