ROBOTS

  1. WHAT IS A ROBOTS?

    • A robot is a machine—especially one programmable by a computer— capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically.
  2. What is robotics?

    • Robotics deals with the design, construction, operation, and use of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, and information processing
  3. Where does the word robot come from

    • Robot is drawn from an old Church Slavonic word, robota, for “servitude,” “forced labor” or “drudgery.” The word, which also has cognates in German, Russian, Polish and Czech, was a product of the central European system of serfdom by which a tenant's rent was paid for in forced labor or service
  4. TYPES OF ROBOTS

    • A simpler, more complete definition of robotic types can be narrowed down to five types: Cartesian, Cylindrical, SCARA, 6-Axis and Delta. Each industrial robot type has specific elements that make them best-suited for different applications. The main differentiators among them are their speed, size and workspace
  5. Impact of robotics

    • Robotic labor machines can produce vastly higher quantities than humans, creating higher supplies of finished goods. The robots present manufacturers with a savings in costs as well, paying much fewer wages to humans and paying slightly higher overhead costs for electricity and machine upkeep.
  6. robots classification

    • On the basis of work envelope geometry, robots can be classified as Cartesian, Cylindrical, Spherical, Articulated, SCARA, and Delta. It is the most commonly used robot type in the industries.
  7. n architecture, robots have mostly been used to choose and position materials, such as bricks. Using multiple robots, architects can control movement, and coordination, as an alternative to design and programming, followed by fabrication and construction. Robots are ideal for real-time design and construction

    • the architecture of robots
  8. Sensors, controllers, and actuators

    • All robots have three types of components: Control system: such as the controller board. Sensors: they can read information on the surrounding environment or the robot itself. Actuators: they produce an effect in the environment or the robot
