Police Department

  1. Illegally 3D Printed Weapons

    • Police have no means to track or trace back weapons illegally printed
    • Weapons can easily be concealed and missed by metal detectors
    • A new division may be needed to log and track 3D printed weapons recovered
  2. Predictive Policing

    • Third party software will be used to determine where crimes may occur, which the public may find intrusive
    • Public may consider some aspects of this to be racially motivated.
    • Putting Officers in troublesome areas may leave other areas un-patrolled, potentially leading to more officers needing to be hired.
  3. Blockchain/Cryptocurrency

    • New equipment may need to be purchased to render and disect blockchain ledgers while investigating internet crimes
    • Public employees specializing in technology services may supplement staff to conduct investigations
    • Drug transactions may never need to be conducted in person again. Utilizing postal services and cryptocurrencies may eliminate hand-to-hand deals.
  4. Drone Enforcement

    • Quicker results for search and rescue, not so reliant on K9
    • Public may interpret drones as a way for the government to spy on them
    • Could create new aviation division within a department
  5. Hot Spots Policing

    • Focusing officers in hot-spots may reduce the number officers needed to patrol
    • Deterrence of crimes leads to better overall public outlook on Police.
    • Citizens can check and see if they live in or near a Hot Spot
