Parallel Lines
Two Lines are said to be Parallel when they do not meet at any point in a Plane . Lines which do not have a common intersection point and never cross path with each other are Parallel to each other.
- If two Parallel lines are cut By the Transversal, then the
- Pair of corresponding angles are equal
- Pairs of alternate ( Interior as well as exterior ) angles are equal
- Interior angles on the same side of the Transversal are Supplementary
- If a Transversal cuts a pair of the lines in such a way that
- The angles of any pair of Corresponding angles are Equal
- The angles of any pair of Alternate interior angles are equal
- The angle of any pair of interior angles on the same side of transversal are supplementary, then the lines are PARALLEL
- If two Parallel lines are cut By the Transversal, then the
DISTANCE BETWEEN PARALLEL LINES
- The distance between parallel line does not change, it is the same everywhere.
LINES PARALLEL TO A GIVEN LINES
- Lines, parallel to a given line in a plane, are parallel to each other.
- Two lines in the same plane perpendicular to a given line are parallel to each other.
