1. Bob Crachitt

   • Scrooges clerk who doesn't have much money. He loves his family and is shown to be happy and morally upright
   • poor/impoverished/ distitute
     • "...Mrs Cratchit, Crachit's wife, dressed out but poorly in a twice turned gown, but brave in ribbons, which are cheap and make a goodly show for sixpence;..."
     • "...and his threadbare clothes darned up and brushed, to look sensible..."
     • "...nobody said or thought that is was at all a small pudding for a large family."
     • "...They were not a handsome family: they were not well dressed; their shoes far from being waterproof; their clothes were scanty..."
   • Affectionate/kind hearted/Amiable/ loving/ Family man/ Man fond of his family life
     • "...Bob's voice was tremulous when he told them this and trembled more when he said Tiny Tim was growing strong and hearty."
     • "...and Bob had hugged his daughter until his heart's content..."
     • "...Bob held his withered little hand in his, as if he loved the child, and wished to keep him by his side , and dreaded that he might be taken from him."
     • "'Mr scrooge!' said Bob 'i'll give you Mr Scrooge, the founder of the feast."
     • "'The founder of the feast' cried Mrs Cratchit reddening 'i wish i had him here. I'd give him a piece of my mind....' 'My dear,' said Bob, 'the children; Christmas day"

   • Tolerant/ sympathetic/open minded/ Thoughtful/ soft hearted
     • "...the clerks fire was so very much smaller that it looked like one coal. But he couldn't replenish it for scrooge kept the coal box in his own room."
     • "Wherefore the clerk put on a white comforter and tried to warm himself at the candle..."
     • "The clerk in the tank involuntarily applauded: becoming immediately sensible of the impropriety."
   • Scrooges long suffering clerk. He is the father of a large impoverished family and despite living a very hard is happy and cheerful . He is especially dedicated to his son Tiny Tim .
   • Grateful/ Gratified/ appreciative
     • "But they were happy, grateful, p;eased with one another, and contended with the time; ...."
