1. physical gross motor

   • prone:lift head and chest of forearms
   • pull themselves to a siting position
   • can sit unsupported for about 15 minutes
   • held:site with back straight

2. sensory

   • respond to their name being called
     • love faces and can recognize their mothers in photo
       • turn their heads toward a sound scource
         • focus their eyes on the same point

3. social/emotional

   • smile
     • respond with pleasure
       • stay awake for a long period of time

4. physical fine motor

   • watch their hands and play with their fingers
   • can hold a rattle for a short time
   • clasp and unclasp hands
   • move their head to follow others moving

5. cognitive/languge

   • laugh and vocalize with increasing tone.
   • cry loudly when expressing a need
     • cooing,gurgling and chukling
       • smile in response to talking
