1. Why is safegaurding important

   • putting things in place to prevent things from happening makes society a safer place
   • it helps vulnerable people and young children get a better quality of life
   • it prevents situations like the holly and Jessica incident from happening

2. What is safegaurding?

   • safegaurding is ensuring no one is violating anyones rights
   • Safegaurding should be done to prevent bad things from happening before they become a case where child protection is needed

3. How do we safegaurd?

   • There are many ways to safegaurd, for instance DBS's are a form of ensuring people that work with vulnerable people are safe

4. Who safegaurds

   • Social workers
     • Social workers especially are trained thouroughly to spot any kind of abuse or neglect
     • Social workers must undertake a DBS check
   • Police
     • police try to defuse situations and prevent citizens feeling unsafe
   • Teachers
     • Teachers are responsible for the kids under there care, this means things such as school trips should be risk assessed and students should be counted regularaly
       • it's also teachers responsibilty to ensure people helping out on school trips are safe
   • you and me
     • Everyone has a responsibility to report something they are uncomfortable with
