  1. Mass tourism refers to a large number of visitors, often on package holidays with accommodation and travel included. It can be seen in the development and consolidation stage on Butler's tourist resort Life Cycle Model.
    1. Economic
      1. More money is earned in foreign currency exchange
        1. Construction jobs go to local people
          1. Low-income jobs can be converted into higher earning ones e.g. fishing boats can be used for tours
            1. Income from tourism/entrance fees may pay for environmental management, conservation and repairs
              1. Tourists bring in money that can transform a country's economy
                1. Visitor numbers are not guaranteed and the area's popularity may decline.
