1. How can there be a perfect God and still have suffering/evil?
  1. Omnipotent= all powerful
  2. Benevolent = all loving
  3. Omniscient = all knowing
  4. Why? What do Christians say?
    1. God is Testing us
    2. We are being punished for what Adam and Eve done
    3. There has to be suffering so we can live good lives and go to heaven

Why do Christians do good things?
1. To get to Heaven
2. To please God who is good
3. To follow our nature
Two types of evil
1. Moral evil
  1. Actions done by humans that cause suffering
  2. E.g. Murder/ theft /war
  3. The person causing the evil is able to make a choice about what is morally right or wrong
2. Natural evil
  1. Things that cause suffering but have nothing to do with humans
  2. E.g. Earthquakes /disease
  3. However many recent natural disasters may have been caused by human interference in the natural world
    1. E.g. Famine / floods
