Online data capture
- Before adding data to a database it needs to be collected this can be done with a DATA CAPTURE FORM
- DCFs use boxes or spaces to collect data
- Data can be entered as a code like Y or N
- Codes are used because they are easier to enter and validate
- Design of the online form is important to get the right data and to make it easy to enter
- All collected personal data need to be treated in line with the DPA (1998) FAST REST
- Once saved, the data is stored on a database TABLE
- Data validation will ensure correct data is entered e.g. number fields will not accept letters and will create an 'error message'
