Developing Pedagogical Framework Using PoLT Component Mapping
  1. Established Solid Foundation
    1. The learning environment promotes independence, interdependence and self-motivation
      1. I ensure that students take responsibility for their own work, as well as encourage them to work collaboratively wherever possible.
      2. The learning environment is supportive and productive
        1. I have worked hard in every classroom I have taught in to create an environment that is warm, caring, safe and professional. I make a point of visiting before I start so that the students are aware of me. I encourage questions, provide feedback, and allow students to have as much time as they need with me to ensure they feel successful in their task. This learning area is a very important one in my perspective and I have worked hard to ensure I am succeeding within it.
      3. Working Towards
        1. Assessment practices are an integral part of learning and teaching
          1. I always try my best to include learning intentions and success criteria in every lesson, however I need assistance occasionally in creating them. I also haven't had much opportunity to implement assessments in a formal manner, and am therefore still working towards a solid foundation.
          2. Students are challenged and supported to develop deep levels of thinking and application
            1. I believe I am working towards a solid foundation in this area as I have high, realistic expectations of my students. I am constantly encouraging deep discussions and I encourage them to reflect on their own thinking. My area in which I need some assistance with is creating a sequence of lessons that flows effectively.
            2. Students' needs, backgrounds, perspectives and interests are reflected in the learning program
              1. I try to the best of my ability to incorporate as many different teaching and learning strategies into my planner as possible. I believe everyone learns differently and as educators we need to accommodate to that. I still need some assistance with utilising contemporary technologies.
            3. Need Constant Assistance With
              1. I have placed none of the six main areas here as I don't believe I need constant assistance with any of them anymore. I am always seeking to improve and better myself, however I don't believe I am at the level of needing large amounts of help with these tasks anymore.
              2. Improving
                1. Learning connects strangling with communities and practice beyond the classroom
                  1. I feel that even though I am definitely improving in this area, I haven't had a large amount of opportunity to develop my teaching practices to include the wider community. This is due to only being in the school for a short amount of time. I would love to develop my ability to incorporate community level activities
