Weimar Constitution.
Main Features
-Proportional Representation: It made sure that parties
had the same percentage of seats in parliament as they
did in the elections.
-President: He was head of the state.
-Bill of rights: The Constitution guaranteed every German
1:Freedom of speech.
2:Freedom of press.
3:Freedom to meet.
4:Freedom for arrest without a good excuse.
Main Features
-Reichstag (Parliament):Each party got a member
for every 60,000 votes it got.
This was called-Proportional Representation.
The Reichstag had to choose the Chancellor. He(Reichstag)
was voted every 4 years.
The Strengths of Constitution
-All German had equal rights, including to vote.
-Proportional Representation.
-Provided a strong leader to keep control over the country in an emergency
-Each state had ots own elected assembly to represent local interest.
Weaknessess of the Constitution.
-Whenever the president wanted he could say it was and
because he was president no one could argue with him
-People could be arrested without a good excuse.
-Proportional representation: Weimar Germans voted for a party.
Every 60 000 votes had a seat. It had no strong party to get a majority
and no goverment got it´s laws passed in the Reichstag
(Article 48)
