Moving charges, such as those in a
wire, produce magnetic fields (B- fields)
when passed through a wire. The
Right-Hand Rule helps us find the
direction of these magnetic fields
How does it work?
All you need is your right
hand (not your left!) to figure
out the magnetic field lines'
direction.
How to do it:
Step 1: Take your right hand
and imagine you are gripping
the wire.
Step 2: Point your thumb in the
direction of the conventional
current
Step 3: Your fingers will curl in
the direction of the magnetic
field
Remember: the
conventional current
flows from the positive
to the negative end of a
battery
