            2. Came in the wind from the west - america
              1. Weather - mild and moist (good weather to carry blight)
                1. Potatoes in storage were infected also
                2. Subdivision of land - no one had enough land to plant anything but potatoes
                  1. Dependent on the potato crop. Ate on average 7 lbs a day.
