AIM
1. Ton investigate the duration of VERY LONG TERM MEMORY (VLTM).
2. To see if memories can last for several decades
PROCEDURE
1. Oppertunity Sampling of 392 american ex-high school students aged between 17-74
  1. The time since leaving high-school was up to 48 years,
2. The particepants were tested in 4 ways:
  1. 2. A photo recognition test.
  2. 1. Free recall of as many names as possible.
  3. 3. A name recognition test.
  4. 4. A name and photo matching test.
3. VLTM was asseced by compairing te particepants responces with year books of all the students from that year
FINDINGS
1. RECALL GROUP
  1. 60% accuracy after 7 years.
  2. 20% accuracy after 47 years.
2. RECOGNITION GROUP
  1. 90% accuracy after 14 years.
  2. 80% accuracy after 25 years.
  3. 60% accuracy after 47 years.
  4. 75% accuracy after 34 years.
