1 Vitamins & Minerals
1.1 (Vitamins) Vitamin C- Helps absorb Iron,Necessary for healthy skin and gums
1.2 (Vitamins) B group- Controls release of energy and for healthy nerves.
1.3 (Minerals) Calcuim- Needed for strong bones and teeth.
1.4 (Minerals) Iron- Needed to make haemoglobin in red blood cells to catty oxygen around the body.
2 Protein
2.1 Protein is the basic building material of every cell in the body
2.2 Made up of amino acids
2.3 There are two groups: High biological value (HBV) and Low biological value (LBV)
3 Fats
3.1 Fats provide the body with energy. The body stores fat under the skin
3.2 There are two groups: Saturated fats (animals) and Unsaturated fats (fish).
4 Carbohydrates
4.1 Carbohydrates are made up of simple sugars called glucose.
4.2 There are three groups: Sugars,Starches and Dietary fibres.
5 Water
5.1 It satisfies thirst,It helps digest and it removes waste from the body in the form of urine.
5.2 It is a source of minerals such as fluoride and calcium. it is essential part of all body fluids and cells
