The Gunpowder Plot
- REASON: A few catholics
were outraged that King
James 1st of England
outlawed catholicism and
because he was Scottish King
- ORIGINAL PLAN: Assassinate
the king (James 1st) and Queen,
Abduct the king's Daughter (Make
her a catholic Queen) and start a
catholic uprising.
- 1. FIRST PLAN: Dig a tunnel under the River
Thames but this plan was not Successful
because the water kept flooding in
- 2. SECOND PLAN: Hide barrels of
gunpowder in the basement of the
houses of Parliament. GUY FAWKES
put 36 barrels (of Gunpowder) under
the River Thames.
- Caused the
Gunpowder to
be ROTTEN
- Caused the
Gunpowder to
be ROTTEN
- 3. Somebody wrote a letter to
Lord Monteagle warning him not to
go to the Houses of Parliament
- 4. Lord Monteagle sends letter to
King James 1st and the king quickly
found out about the Gunpowder
Plot BECAUSE HIS CHILDHOOD
WAS FILLED WITH DANGER.

Arrested and Tortured (Caught by Guards
when they decided to check the cellars last
moment again before in First visit where
Guy told them his name was John - Johnson (A
PERFECT NAME TO NOT BE CAUGHT)
- 6. Guy gave in and told them
every conspritor who was in
on the plot and they were
excuted around January 1606
