Chapter 10 - Job Description
What is a Job Description?
A job description entails all the necessary information about the job. This includes wages, hours, location, bonuses, working times and list of duties.
Why is it important?
It is important that the job description is done accurately and correctly so people don't get misinformed and frustrated when the job isn't what they expected. The candidates then reject the job or drop out which wastes the company's money and time because the recruitment process costs a lot to the company so then they would have to advertise it again to recruit new people.
A job advertisement is usually not detailed as it is briefly explained. The contract would be more thorough and contain all the details.
Person Specification
It describes all the personal attributes that the company would like to see in a potential candidate. It includes all the skills, qualification, experiences and personality traits.
