Virtual Memory
The CPU is the brain of the computer.
The CPU carries out all the processing in a computer.
CPU stands for Central Processing Unit.
It carries out the Fetch, Decode and Execute cycle. FEC
it can be made up of one or more cores and each core has its own cache memory that is a lot faster than RAM.
The speed of the CPU is measured in Hertz (HZ).
The amount of cores in a CPU affects the speed. For example, quad core is 4x faster than a single core.
ROM stands for Read Only Memory.
It also contains BIOS which stands for Basic Input and Output System.
It contains the boot up instructions and the operating system (OS).
RAM stands for Random Access Memory.
It stores volatile memory that is lost when the computer is turned off.
It's part of the hard disc.
It is normally twice the size of the RAM.
It holds memory the RAM isn't using.
It is volatile memory.
