how did the nazis gain control (methods) censored press - all newspapers were controlled by the nazis and only posted things favourable of the nazis control of radio broadcasts - all radio output was controlled by the geobbels' ministrey use of sports events - such as the olympics  using loadspeakers to blast out propaganda 24/7 mass rallies - to show how many people supported the nazis (peer pressure?)

early concentration camp conditions: the reason why the nazis started using concentration camps in 1933 was to scare and imprison apposing political leaders, but after a while it was expanded and they became run by SS leaders with different intentions. the difference between concentration camps and prison is that they didnt have to go through a judicial system to be placed in one. no heating  no beds  no washrooms  torture was a common practice - beatings, humiliation. forced labour

work of the gestapo: responsible for state security, it has the authority to send people to concentration camps. under himmlers command was responsible for the roundup of Jews throughout Europe for deportation to extermination camps. ruthless as they were able to act illegaly without consequences
