Content of the notes (7)
Page 1
equations and solutions
~ solutions: a value for a variable that makes an equation true
~solving and equation = the process of finding the solution. We want the variable by itself.
~Inverse operations to "undo"
Page 2
additon property
~if you add the same number to each side it's still equal.
Page 3
subtraction property
~f you subtract the same number from each side of the problem the sides remain equal
~ subtract from both sides when adding
Page 4
writing equations
~variables are used to represent unknown
Page 5
reciprocial
~same thing just flipped/flopped
Page 6
division property of equality
~ when you divide each side of an equation by the same number
~nonzero the sides that remain equal
~you can divide by nonzero just not zero
Page 7
Multipliacation property of equality
when you multiply each side of an equation by the same nonzero number, the two sides remain equivalent
