The Metric System

The metric system was developed in the 1700s by the French Academy of Sciences and took 200 years to develop. SI units are expressed in multiples of 10, the 3 basic units are meter, liter and gram and it goes up to km, kg and ki and goes down to mm, mg, ml. If 1 meter is too divided into 1000 parts, each part will be one millimeter.
