Compliance is defined as: "Acting according to certain accepted standards." Compliance is very important to the business owner and managers. Businesses controlled by various rules, regulations and legislative laws. Examples of some common regulations include Occupational Health and Safety requirements and Industrial Relations Legislation. Society is becoming more argumentative and as it does business owners are more aware of the penalties associated with not complying to different regulations. Besides the regular business regulations mentioned above. There are also many regulations including codes of practice and legislation involved with keeping animals and working with animals. Animal care facilities and businesses involving animals, business owners, managers and supervisors must have a good understanding of all relevant regulations governing their trade. Animal care supervisors should be able to show their sound underlying knowledge of animal care and husbandry requirements by giving high level advice to animal owners.
