Future Developments in shopping

NFC Chips

Chips in mobile phones that allow a persons mobile phone to become a form of payment by holding the chip in the mobile phone near the scanner and then the chip and the scanner make the transaction.

This would mean that transactions would become a lot quicker and people would not have to carry around their credit cards of which they could lose.

How ether this would require people to purchase these new phones that include these chips and if someone's phone is robbed then the robber would have access to the owners chip.

3D models in clothes shops

when a person walks into a clothes shop, cameras will take a 3D image of them to create a 3D model of them of which the shopper can use to virtually try on clothes without actually having to change clothes.

This will speed up clothes shopping as people will not have to waste time changing clothes and also this would save money of changing rooms.

a lot of shoppers will not want 3D models made of them and the setup cost and maintenance cost could be expensive.

Future developments in transport

Sensors

The development of quick accurate sensors will allow for the improvement of various areas of transport from automatic emergency breaks to automatic parking and even automatic driving.

This will make it easier for people to travel and make travel faster and safer. For example if a car in front of your car hits another car, the sensors can pick up a danger up ahead and apply the break to stop the car before your car hits one of the cars already involved in the accident. Automatic driving will help speed up travel and computers can have faster reactions than humans so the cars can travel faster and more safely.

the disadvantage is that if the sensors fail when there is an accident, the accident will be worse because there may not be a driver at the wheel of the car and the cars will be traveling at higher speeds.

Pre-booking of public transport

This is where people book in advance where they are traveling on public transport and how many people they are traveling with.

This will speed up boarding times for things like busses and people don need to say where they are going and this will ensure that everyone has a seat whilst there are not busses/trains etc that are running practically empty of passengers and wasting fuel and money.

Some people will still prefer to state their destination as they board the buss and people will still turn up without booking their travel in advance, possibly taking seats away and preventing people who did book from traveling on that public transport vehicle.

Transport
