   • Text alternatives (audio and video)
   • Contrast
     • Text size, legibility
     • Colour
       • Use a contrast analyzer
       • Low- vision, colour blindness
       • Allow individual preferences
   • Create content that can be presented in different ways
   • Resources
     • Screen reader, Braille, simple language, screen magnifier

2. Operable

   • Everything should be accessible from a keyboard
     • Nothing should depend on the mouse
       • Have large, clickable targets
   • Help to navigate
     • Clear titles, consistent mechanisms, orientation clues
   • Resources
     • Mouse, keyboard, voice recognition...
   • Avoid content that flashes more than 3 times per second

3. Understandable

   • Intuitively predictable interface elements
   • Consistent interfaces
     • Orientation
   • Verbal content
     • Break long passages, use subheadings
     • Plain language
       • Integrate definitions
       • Clear and simple
   • Spell out rquierements ahead of time

4. Robust

   • Compatibility
     • Base the design on internationally recognized standards
     • Semantic HTML
       • The website should be accessible from all browsers
   • Accomodate past, present and future needs
     • Current, outmoded platforms and new solutions
