KING LEAR - Act 3 Scene 1

1. Kent questions the Gent about Lear's whereabouts and we learn that he out on the heath, raging against the elements

2. The Fool is the King's only companion, who tries to distract him with jokes

3. The Gentleman describes Lear to be tearing his hair out, running about unprotected, calling for the destruction of the world.

4. Kents speak of the recent 'division' between Albany and Cornwall. He then explains that France is preparing to invade England, having sent some of his army across secretly.

5. Kent fives the Gentleman a ring and asks him to deliver it to Cordelia, who has landed with the French forces at Dover.

6. They continue searching for Lear.
