     • Stability - Least Stable
     • Example - Joints between the arms & Legs
   • Cartilaginous
     • Mobility - Little Movement
     • Stability - Stable
     • Example - Between the bodies of adjacent vertebrae in the cervica & thoracic
     • Example - Between the bodies of adjacent vertebrae in part of the lumbar spine
   • Fibrous
     • Mobility - No Movement
     • Stability - Most Stable
     • Example - Between the bones of the skull
     • Example - Between the fused bones of the sacrum and coccyx

   • Ball & Socket
     • Shoulder
     • Hip
     • The ball shaped head of one bone articulates with the socket of an adjacent bone
   • Hinge
     • Elbow
     • Knee
     • Ankle
     • A cylindrical protrusion of one bone articulates with an adjacent bone
   • Pivot
     • Radio-Ulnar
     • Spine
     • Wrist
     • A rounded or pointed structure of one bone articulates with a ring-shaped structure of an adjacent bone
   • Condyloid
     • Wrist
     • Similar to ball & socket but with much flatter articulating surfaces forming a shallower joint
   • Gliding
     • Spine
     • Articulating surfaces are almost flat and of a similar size
