Probability
Basic concepts
- Outcomes
- The giving results
- Sample Space
- It's the space with all the posible results that can come out of the event
- Event
- The problematic that asks for this probability
- Experiments
- The experimentation to ensure the outcome
- Outcomes
Odds
- Numerical expression, always consisting of a pair of numbers
Probability Formulas
- Theoretical Probability Formula
- P(E)=(#ResultadosFavorables) ------------------------------ (#TotalDeResultados)
- Empirical Probability Formula
- P(E)=(#VecesQueOcurrioElProblema) ---------------------------------------------- (#VecesQueSeRealizoElExperimento)
- Theoretical Probability Formula
Event involving "not" and "or"
- Is applicable in the case where you want to find the probability of a collection of different outcomes.
Events involving "and"
- Independient Variables
- Two events are independent if the occurrence of one does not change the probability of the other occurring.
- Dependent Variable
- If the occurrence of one event does affect the probability of the other occurring, then the events are dependent.
- Conditional Variable
- The probability of event B occurring that event A has already occurred is read "the probability of B given A" and is written: P (AlB)
- Independient Variables
Set Operations
- Union
- When A, B and AnB form part of the answers
- Difference
- when only A without B or AnB form part of the answers
- Intersection
- Only AnB, the intersection that appear in both spaces
- Complement
- It's all the other answers that are not A and B
- Union
