1.1 Infrared radiation

• Infrared waves are part of the electromagnetic spectrum
• They are just beyond visible red light
• Infrared radiation makes us feel warm
• All objects emit infrared radiation
• The hotter the object- the more radiation it emits
• Infrared can travel through a vacuum
• It traveks through space which is how we get heat from the sun
