1[blank_start]Reliability[blank_end] refers to [blank_start]consistency[blank_end].
SELF REPORT METHODS
[blank_start]Internal[blank_end] reliability is a measure of the [blank_start]extent[blank_end] to which something is [blank_start]consistent[blank_end] within [blank_start]itself[blank_end], e.g all [blank_start]questions[blank_end] on an [blank_start]IQ[blank_end] test should be [blank_start]measuring[blank_end] the same thing.
[blank_start]External[blank_end] reliability refers to the [blank_start]consistency[blank_end] of the findings over [blank_start]time[blank_end] and place ([blank_start]replications[blank_end]), e.g if someone conducted an [blank_start]interview[blank_end] and then conducted the [blank_start]same[blank_end] one a [blank_start]week[blank_end] later, the [blank_start]outcome[blank_end] should be the [blank_start]same[blank_end].- AReliability

2A study is [blank_start]reliable[blank_end] if we can [blank_start]repeat[blank_end] it and get the same [blank_start]results[blank_end]. [blank_start]Lab[blank_end] experiments usually have [blank_start]high[blank_end] [blank_start]reliability[blank_end] because they can be [blank_start]replicated[blank_end].
The [blank_start]Test-Retest[blank_end] method is used to assess [blank_start]external[blank_end] reliability. The [blank_start]measure[blank_end] is administered to the [blank_start]same[blank_end] group twice and if the results are [blank_start]similar[blank_end] we can assume the [blank_start]tests[blank_end] are [blank_start]reliable[blank_end].
The [blank_start]Split-Half[blank_end] method is used to assess [blank_start]internal[blank_end] [blank_start]reliability[blank_end]. It involves [blank_start]splitting[blank_end] the test in [blank_start]half[blank_end] and comparing the [blank_start]answers[blank_end] in each. The individual's [blank_start]scores[blank_end] on both [blank_start]halves[blank_end] of the tests should be very [blank_start]similar[blank_end]. The scores can be compared by [blank_start]calculating[blank_end] a [blank_start]correlation[blank_end] [blank_start]coefficient[blank_end].- Areliable
