- Your DNA is what makes you, you. All of the instructions and little pieces that make you, you are coded into a long molecule and chromosome called DNA. Usually, the molecule is twisted and folded so that it can fit into a cell called the nucleus. It usually looks a lot like a ladder...
- Here are the 4 bases in your DNA... A, T, C, G. But, you can't just put any of these letters together, the A has to fit with the T and the C has to fit with the G. Think of it as a puzzle, A is the only piece of the puzzle that is ever going to fit into the T piece. E.G: A T C T A G G T C A A T G C these would match up with the ones in blue: E.G: T A G A T C C A G T T A C G.
- If you changed these letters around, then you would change some of the characteristics in that piece of DNA.

- Variation is the differences of things that are alive but are still the same species. That is known as a variation. Variations can be what is caused by a difference by a gene or ,in some cases, differences from the environment. Did you know that some variations can be caused by both of them, genes and the environment.

- Natural Selection tells us that there is variation in different species. Some adaptions are good and some are bad, here is an example...
- In the 1800's, Charles Darwin made a theory about giraffes' necks. He said that they would , over time, adapt to having longer necks so that they could reach the best of food from the trees. This meant that the ones who didn't adapt to having longer necks eventually died. He said that the survivors would reproduce and have an offswpring as well as this...
- '' This is the survival of the fittest. ''

Organism: What is an organism?
- An Organism is where two living things compete for resources like food, water, mates, space, light, mineral and shelter. But, there are two types of this... interspecific is when the same type of species are competing for these certain resources and then there is intraspecific. That is when two completely different types of species are competing for these resources. An Organism is where two living things compete for resources like food, water, mates, space, light, mineral and shelter. Continuous & discontinuous variation
- What is continuous variation?
- Continuous variation can take any value, for example, height or weight.
- What is discontinuous variation?
- Discontinuous variation can only take set values, such as, blood group or eye colour.
