Slides in this set (3)

  1. Introduction

    • Introduction
    • The Earth moves in space on a 23.5 degree angle axis around the sun. One year has past when the Earth has rotated around the sun once in a elliptical/oval shape. 24 hours has passed when the Earth rotates once on its 23.5 degree tilt. One month has passed when the moon has gone around the Earth once and completed all its phases.
  2. Explanation of Day and Night

    • Explanation of Day and Night
    • When the Earth rotates on its axis from west and east only one face is facing the sun causing that side to experience day.
    • The Earth rotates once everyday (24 hours)
    • In conclusion the rotation of the Earth causes day and night.
  3. The Reasons for the Seasons

    • The Reasons for the Seasons
    • Australia's seasons are governed by the tilt of the Earth's axis as it rotates around the Sun. When the South Pole is tilted towards the Sun, this Australia's summer. Six months later, when the South Pole is facing away from the Sun, Australia is experiencing winter. In between are the seasons, Autumn and Spring.
