    - 'The Strong Leader' of Germany dies 3 October 1929.- Chancellor until August 1923 - 24 November 1923- Foreign Minister 1923-1929.- Wall Street Crash occurs 24 October 1929.

    - Took over as Chancellor in 1928.- Formed the Grand Coalition consisting party members from SDP to DVP- Resigned due to the collapse of the Grand Coalition MARCH 1930+ WHY DID THE GRAND COALITION COLLAPSE?IT FAILED TO DECIDE ON WHAT TO DO WITH THE RISING UNEMPLOYMENT IN GERMANY CAUSED BY THE WALL STREET CRASH.-> his chancellorship was the only one which had a coalition government with a working majority in the Reichstag. In other words, his chancellorship was effectively the end of the democratic parliamentary government.

    Bruning 1930-32
    - He was appointed Chancellor in March 1930, von Schleicher advised Hindenburg. - Financial Expert and member of the Centre Party. - He banned the SA due to the increase of political violence April 1932- RESIGNED MAY 1932- WHY DID HE RESIGN?+ because he failed to solve the impact of the Great Depression and his austerity programme had made it worse for Germany.(CENTRE PARTY GETTING ONLY 68 SEATS AND NSDAP GETTING 107)+ Hindenburg lost faith on him .

    Reichstag Elections / Presidential Elections
    SEPT 1930 - REICHSTAG ELECTIONS- DONE UNDER BRUNING'S GOVT WHERE HE SOUGHT TO GET THE MAJORITY VOTE + MORE SUPPORT IN THE REICHSTAG(NSDAP GOT 107 SEATS IN THE REICHSTAG BUT ONLY HAD 10.6% AS THE VOTE COMPARED TO THE KPD WHO HAD 13.1% OF THE VOTE.) 
    MARCH - APRIL 1932 - PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS- HINDENBURG RAN FOR PRESIDENT AND SO DID HITLER. HINDENBURG WON THIS WITH MAJORITY VOTE - 53% HITLER COMING SECOND WITH 37%

    - WAS APPOINTED AS CHANCELLOR IN MAY 1932 BECAUSE SCHLEICHER PERSUADED HINDENBURG !!!!!! - His cabinet was the first cabinet to not contain any Reichstag members. Instead he had elites or 'barons' in his government.- JUNE 1932: Papen lifted the ban imposed by Bruning on the SA. - JULY 1932: Hitler persuaded Papen to hold another general election. Hindenburg agreed.- AUGUST 1932: NAZIS WON 37% OF THE VOTE. HITLER DEMANDED TO BE MADE CHANCELLOR. * Papen has been negotiating with Hitler about forming a coalition government with him. Hugenburg approved and supported of a Nazi-led coalition. Hindenburg was wary of this plan and negotiation but was assured by mini (Oskar von) Hindenburg and Papen that Hitler, who they thought was poorly educated and inexperienced in politics, would be easy to control and he will only be the 'face of the government'.This negotiation also secured von Papen's vice-chancellorship an Hugenburg's Economics an Foods Ministries._SCHLEICHER DID NOT TAKE PART IN THIS NEGOTIATION_
