   • Industry and the way we manufacture in constantly changing and evolving. The industrial Revolution in the late 1700s was due to the development of the emerging technology of the time: steam power. Prior to the Industrial Revolution, products were generally made in small workshops or at home, but emerging technology enabled products to be made faster and more economically in factories.
   • Automated systems produce roducts of a high quality at a low product cost necause of the numbers of products they produce quikly, however they rre very expensive and require a specialist workfoce and if the system breaks down, it can be extremely costly.
   • Robot arms are now used in many industries. They can do many jobs on the production line by being provided with different tools. They can perform welding, spray painting, assembly tasks, packaging and labelling with high speed and precision.
