1. Economic problems

   • Refugees came with very little
   • Refugees had no housing
   • There was no Indo-Chinese commuity to help them, so there was little infastructure to support them
   • Refugees could only get unskilled work

2. Social Problems

   • Racial discrimination
     • It was difficult for any Asian group to be accepted by many European Australians
     • Recial Stereotypes
   • Indo-Chinese gathered together in certain areas, causing some resentment among some non-Asian groups
   • Religious differences

3. Political Problems

   • Many refugees left their country of birth for political reasons
   • Refugees could have fairly conservative political view in Australian terms
   • Many Indo-Chinese immigrants are strongly anti-communist

4. Family Problems

   • Many Indo-Chinese have left family behind
   • Many lost family in the war - history of family dysfuntion
