others to care for their basic needs
- 2-3 years:
- Autonomy vs. Shame & doubt
- Toddlers become more independent
- Caregivers must provide appropriate guidance based on
child's level of maturation & development
- Children must try
new skills and
confidence
- 6 years:
- Initiative vs. guilt:
- relates to issue of mastery and competence
- infant's tackle new tasks, interact with peers & caregivers
