  2. project

    • activity-specified start/finish date-meet object
  3. task

    • project/activity-outcome, time scale, resource allocation
      • deliverables of task-together-deliverable larger task
      • can be divided-sub tasks-lowest level of detail
    • responsible individuals
  4. work package

    • sub-project, group of related tasks-specific item
      • 5-10 major groups activity
        • best way work can be organised/delivered
      • composed of number of tasks
  5. WBS

      • foundation-analyzing task dependencies, isolate/manage risk
      • bottom up estimate for proj schedule
    • level of detail
      • tasks=small=accurate monitoring
        • smallest task=5% project
  6. Programme-project-work package-deliverable/milestone-task

    • 3 levels-WP, D/M, Task
  7. Deliverable

    • Advantages- long time use, clear hierarchy, effective in describing project progress against milestone/deliverables
    • Disadvantage- little info per unit area, difficult to read >30 tasks, not show fully relationships/dependencies. no EET, LET, CP. No risk/failure delay.
    • prefer by business executive
  10. Net work diagram

    • graphically show sequential relations between tasks
    • Total duration, EET, LET- displayed.
    • critical tasks -extra effort is needed
