PROJECT 2
Flowchart content
HOW TO GIVE A PRESENTATION
How to introduce yourself and your topic
How to make a strong star
Using signposting languaje
Dealing with problems
If the audience does not know you, you must introduce yourself by saying name and position
For example: Hello everyone, my name is Simon and I work in the marketing department
Introduce your topic
If the topic is simpler, you can say a simple phrase and the topic
If your topic is more complex, you can add more details, separating the topic in stages
I will begin by explaining the basic concept, followed by real examples and finally the impact that quality control has
Today, I would like to talk to you about "Quality Control"
Establish a common problem and establish that you have a solution
Mention an interesting fact, or a surprising statistic to get people´s attention
It's used to move between points, give a summary, go into more detail and signal the conclusion of an idea
Make a reference card with key points or words needed
Use a filler phrase if you don't remember what to say
Short stories: Involve people with a story related to the topic
Stories are powerful, and they can add an emotional dimension to your topic
"Tell the audience what you are going to say; say it, and then tell them what you´ve said"
Dale Carnegie.
You need signposting language and order
For example: where was I?, So, what was I saying?, what´s the word in english again?
Mistakes and Clarifications
Let me rephrase that..., actually, what I meant to say is..., to clarify, I wanted to say that...
Adding something you forgot
Let me just add ne more thing..., I´d like to add something to a point we discussed earlier..., Let me return to an earlier point briefly.
