Cards in this deck (17)
- 1Operation code(OP code) what to do to the data.
- 2Memory addressWhere data is read from / written to
- 3Machine codeMachine code consists of coded instructions and data.
- 4High level codeTranslated code into machine code so the CPU cab execute them.
- 5KeywordsSimple keywords that involve lots of programming using machine code.
(Give examples of keywords: Sort, IF, FUNCTION etc.) - 6SyntaxRules for the use of keywords and the arguments that go with them.
- 7CompilerIt translates the source code into machine code in one go.
- 8InterpreterAn interpreter allows the programmer to run the source code but only within the interpreter.
- 9Source code editorTo allow source code to be entered and edited.
- 10DebuggerTo identify logic errors in the source code and easily allow the software developer to see where and why they have occurred.
- 11EditorWrite/edit code, colour code keywords, auto-complete code.
- 12OperandThe operand specifies the data that needs to be acted on.
- 13What are the typical assembly language?Add.
Subtract.
Load.
Compare.
Branch.
Store. - 14What is the difference between machine code and higher level code?Machine code is just binary where as higher level code is made up of instructions written in high level languages such as Visual basic, C++, Delphi and Java Script.
- 15What is the difference between Complier and Interpreter? The difference between Complier and Interpreter is that the Complier translates the source code into machine code in one go where as Interpreter only translates the source code to machine code line by line.
- 16What is the difference between assembly language, high level language and machine code. The difference between assembly language, high level code and machine code is
- 17What is opcode and operand?Opcode tells the processor the job such as "add" or "subtract".
Operand specifies the data that needs to be acted on. They use the register to refer to place memory.
