INPUT devices
- Keyboard- allows the user to enter data by pressing on keys
- Mouse- allows you to select icons
- Touchscreen- allows you to open apps on a touchscreen device such as a mobile phone or tablet
- Microphone- picks up sound and converts it into digital input data
- Heat sensor- the heat sensor detects the surrounding temperature and produces an input to the system
OUTPUT devices
- Computer monitor- presents output as an image. 'Image' is not just a picture it is also text etc
- Printer- prints out documents
- Speakers- output sounds eg. music
- LED light- lights up when an output is sent to it
STORAGE devices
- Memory stick- allows you to save images or videos or music on compact stick
- CD- allows you to store music on a more compact storage device
- DVDs- store video on a portable disc
- SD- cards help you store photos and videos and downloads on to portable devices eg. tablet, mobile phone, computer, cameras
