         • Words with similar meanings were poorly recalled compared to words that had distinct meanings = LTM encodes mainly semantically

     • American P. aged 17-74 given a free recall test, list of names, photo recognition test, name list of ex school friends
       • Findings
         • Names & Faces
           • 48 years = 80% accurate
           • 15 years = 90% accurate
         • Free Recall
           • 48 years = 30% accurate
           • 15 years = 60% accurate
