1. DISCOVERY

   • It was discovered by Rene Descartes, a French mathematician. He discovered it in the seventeenth century. It is in his honour that, the plane is known as Cartesian Plane.

   • IT IS IN HIS HONOR THAT THE PLANE WHICH IS DESCRIBED AS THE GRAPH IS NAMED AS THE CARTESIAN SYSTEM

       • It is the latitude of the graph of the plane. It extends from a positive to negative dimension. 
       • IT IS THE LATITUDE OF THE GRAPH OF THE PLANE
       • IT EXTENDS FROM THE POSITIVE TO THE NEGATIVE AXIS

       • IT IS THE LONGITUDE OF THE GRAPH OF THE PLANE
       • IT EXTENDS FROM THE POSITIVE TO THE NEGATIVE AXIS.

       • POINT OF INTERSECTION OF THE TWO AXES.

       • THE TWO AXES DIVIDE THE PLANE INTO FOUR QUADRANTS OR PARTS.
