Computational thinking
- Decomposition and Abstraction
- Decomposition
- Reduces a problem into sub-problems. This makes it easier to solve.
- Abstraction
- Identifies essential elements that are needed and then discards the ones that are not needed.
- Decomposition
- Flowcharts
- Terminal which shows the start or end of a flowchart.
- Decision which shows a yes or no, true or false decisions with 2 possible outcomes.
- Process, shows data processing e.g. a calculation
- Trace tables
- Trace tables have columns for each of the variables and input and output variables.
- Linear search
- A linear search is sequential. It starts at the beginning of the list and moves through item by item until it finds the matching item or reaches the end of the list.
